The Blount County Highway Department is a professional and united team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Blount County. It's that time of year again and our vegetation crews have started mowing all over the county. Please be cautious when approaching and watch for flagmen. We want everyone to be safe and have a great summer in our beautiful county.

Morganton Road
Blount County and the City of Maryville have partnered with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration to embark on a planning process to result in the improvement of approximately 2.3 miles of Morganton Road from it’s intersection with Foothills Mall Drive to the intersection of William Blount Drive.

The Blount County Highway Department in concert with the City of Maryville and in cooperation with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration is taking the first step toward improving Morganton Road from Foothills Mall Drive to William Blount Drive. As discussed in our Public Meeting (9-13-18), you will begin to see members of our professional design team conducting field investigations in the project area. They may be on your property. We are asking for your understanding in allowing this work to be accomplished. We do not expect this work to be destructive. Any/all sampling sites will be restored to their present condition. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
